NatWest and its Staff Respond To The Tsunami Appeal

RBS Group, which includes NatWest, has announced that in response to the Asian Tsunami tragedy, it has given US$1million to the UK Disasters Emergency Committee's Tsunami Earthquake Appeal.

In addition, it has committed to double-match any donations to the appeal by its UK-based staff through the Bank's Give as You Earn staff giving scheme.

The staff appeal is only in its third day and already a further £100,000 has been raised through the Give As You Earn double matching.

RBS employs approximately 95,000 staff in the UK and the Group includes The Royal Bank of Scotland, NatWest, Coutts, Direct Line, Churchill Insurance, Ulster Bank and Lombard.

In 2004, RBS Group and its staff raised over £7.5million for charities through the Group's Give As You Earn double matching payroll scheme.
